John Cobalt

Born and raised on Florida's gulf coast, John developed a deep love for nature and wildlife from a young age, inspiring him to capture the beauty he saw around him through art. He became interested in photography after years of painting and sketching. Through this medium, he sought to create moments and subjects that evoke strong emotion. ​ John considered his greatest honor as having been included in Instagram's Discover Amazing Animal Photographers. His work has been published by Cambria Style Magazine, Lufthansa Airlines, Maxim, Forever 21, and Tampa Bay Times, among others. John loved to travel and photograph beautiful scenes from the places he visited. In 2022, he moved to southern Washington and made the west coast his new home. After a long battle with cancer, John succumbed to his illness on December 11, 2025. He leaves behind his partner of 15 years, Melissa, and two sons, Neven and Ryan. Although his spirit has left this world, his legacy lives on through his stunning artwork. His online gallery is maintained by Melissa.
